We are expanding our Federal business development team to help grow our markets. The Sales Representative is a field-based sales position that reports directly to the Executive VP of Federal Business Development and Operations or the Director of Federal Sales.

Responsibilities

Summary of Responsibilities and Performance Requirements

  • We are looking for a self-starting disciplined candidate to apply your thorough understanding of sales methodology, federal contracting vehicles, prospecting techniques, to develop and close on business opportunities within the Federal Government.

  • You will be responsible for creating demand; building a qualified opportunity pipeline, accurate forecasting, and closing contracts to generate revenue as assigned.

  • You will be expected to guide a cross-functional support team through the entire lifecycle of Federal sales, including opportunity identification and development, capture, partnering, positioning, RFI/RFP response, proposal management, compliance checking, and orals preparation and service delivery.

  • Proven ability to build and leverage strong business relationships through networking and cold calling

  • Arranging business meetings and following up on qualified leads

  • Understanding customers’ specific business needs and applying Teksouth offering and IT solutions to meet those needs

  • Working closely with the marketing department

  • Develop effective sales plans utilizing sales methodology

  • Proven ability to facilitate business alliances and teaming arrangements to expand business opportunities.

  • Participate in professional/community events and organizations…Chamber of Commerce, NMCA, AFCEA, DECC, ASMC, etc.

  • Prepares and present sales activity reports on a weekly basis

  • Effectively track all leads and contacts in the Teksouth MS Dynamics CRM portal

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience selling both IT and Professional Services in DoD, and other Federal Government agencies

  • Experience in Federal technology sales, Business Intelligence, Data Management, Data Integration, Data Warehousing, or Professional Services

  • Must also be able to develop initial technical presentations for prospective customers

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or 7-10 years equivalent work experience

  • Secret Security clearance or the ability to obtain one

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills demonstrating professionalism, self-confidence, drive, and commitment with the ability to interact appropriately at all levels from technical to management to senior leadership within an organization.Polished communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to properly format, develop, write and present sales proposals, client presentations, white papers, etc.,

  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and commitment to company values

Employment Details

  • Duty Location: Huntsville, AL and Washington DC

  • Physical and Virtual: Tele-working, office work, fieldwork, client sites

  • Travel: As needed-expect both local and outside local area, 30-40 percent of the time. Some travel may be international.

  • Competitive Pay: Base salary plus performance incentives (experience dependent)

A Plus:

  • Experience with Government Financial management processes and systems (military or civilian)
