Overview

Teksouth has an opportunity available in the Washington DC / Pentagon area for Data Analytics Analyst/Developer. The preferred candidates will have a DoD Financial Management background with a proven history in data analytics and a proficiency in Excel and Access. Candidates must also possess an active Top Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Job Description: The Analyst/Developer is responsible for interpreting the financial data involved with the integration and automation of desktop toolsets using the Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, InfoPath, etc.)

  • Identifies possible data from financial systems, contract systems, and other sources

  • Assists in determining that proper data elements are linked within MS Access data sources and MS Excel to produce charts, graphs, and metrics

  • Understands Visual Basic for Applications in MS Office to automate and integrate data sources

  • Creates dashboard type products of all required charts and graphs in MS PowerPoint

  • Creates end-user instructions for developed toolsets that meet audit compliance mandates

  • Leads/Conducts training classes on MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint automation techniques

  • Leads/Conducts training classes on MS Excel Pivot Tables (Up to 50 people at a time)

  • Leads specialized analysis and development efforts for analysts and leaders

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • Must possess an active Top Secret Clearance.

  • Must know how to link financial datasets from various systems and determine an output strategy using Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, and Outlook.

  • Must have a basic understanding of Visual Basic for Applications.

  • Must be an expert in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years' experience in DoD Financial Management.

  • Must possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate to analysts and senior leaders (e.g., Colonels, Generals, and Senior Executives).

  • Must be available to work under tight deadlines and work during evenings and weekends when necessary.

  • Must possess a strong understanding of Financial Management, GAAP concepts, Audit requirements and current policies.

  • Must possess a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a large organization, managing diverse tasks, requirements, and commitments.
